FAQs

What does solar cost?

Great question. There’s no one size fits all solar system. When working with a professional at Saint Andrew’s we customize the solar system to meet the needs/usage of the home. The goal is to produce enough power to completely eliminate your electric bill.

We call it a ‘bill swap’ we eliminate your rising electric bill with a fixed rate solar bill that’s usually less than your average bill. So “how much does solar cost?”, well it depends on your power usage - but it costs less than the electric company for the same if not more power!

How do I know if I’m a good fit?

There are a few factors when determining if your home is a good fit for solar. First you want unobstructed south facing roof space. Unobstructed meaning no trees or structures preventing full sunlight from hitting your roof! Yes as you can imagine the more sun you get the better for solar and thus the more you can save! East and West facing roof planes are also good but since we’re in the northern Hemisphere… southern facing roofs get the most sunlight.

You also want to make sure your roof is in good condition. Usually we’re looking for a roof under 10-15 years old but it really depends on the roof condition/wear and tear. Our consultants perform site surveys for free to ensure the roof is equipped for solar.

How long does solar take to install?

It really depends on the state and municipality you’re in. As we cover most of the Midwest and beyond the install timelines vary from 3-8 weeks. All of our installers have your panels on site at their warehouses, the holdup comes from the permitting process. But once permits are back from the city/county solar installations only take a day! Also, good news! The way solar is structured with Saint Andrew’s - your first monthly solar payment isn’t due until one month after system activation so it’s a true ‘bill swap’ and you’re never double paying for your power. A clean transition away from the monopoly to a cheaper fixed rate alternative!
